Program Overview:

Calm conditions are always welcome, but real divers also need to know how to adapt when the sea is moving. The SSI Waves, Tides & Currents specialty helps you understand how waves, tides and currents affect your dive planning, entries, exits and underwater navigation. You’ll learn how to assess conditions more effectively, plan safer dives from shore, understand how tides can change a dive site, and manage moving water more confidently — whether returning to a fixed exit point or drifting with the current.
