Program Overview:

Every experienced diver, or any diver with common sense, will carry a compass with them as an orientation aid — but carrying a compass doesn’t make much sense if you don’t know how it works correctly or what to do if it stops working.

Without a compass, navigating in situations with limited visibility or without recognizable reference points can lead to complete disorientation, potentially resulting in dangerous scenarios. The SSI Navigation specialty introduces you to natural navigation techniques as well as how to properly use a compass to help guide you through nearly any situation underwater.

Training Standards:

• Duration: 1 day
• 2 training dives
• Digital learning materials
• SSI Navigation certification

Requirements:

• Minimum 10 years old
• SSI Open Water Diver certification or equivalent
