Sometimes the real joy of diving is when you are alone with the wonderful marine life and scenery that can be found underwater. This can be especially important for underwater photographers who are waiting for that moment when something special happens. It may be that you want to be sure that the conditions are calm and that no-one else is around when you want to take that special picture.

The SSI Independent Diving course is designed to teach you to dive safely and comfortably without a designated dive buddy. You will learn about self-reliance, proper equipment maintenance, and the special considerations and rescue techniques required to dive independently.

• The SSI Independent Diving course costs 190€ and includes two open water dives. The course can be completed in one day and is open to any diver holding an Open Water certification and aged 18 or over.
