I really wish I could go down deeper to that wreck!
Your SSI Open Water Diver certification allows you to dive to a maximum depth of 18 metres. But you know how it is when you get to your maximum depth you see something below that you really want to investigate, but your certification does not allow you to. As an example most wrecks are settled on the sea bed so if the bottom depth is 30 metres you may miss some fascinating parts of the wreck or reef. The SSI Deep Diving speciality allows you to plan dives beyond 18 metres, progressing to a maximum depth of 40 metres.
During the course, you will not only dive deeper but also learn how to plan deeper dives to ensure that you have sufficient air and the optimal gas mix. The Deep Diving course is a perfect accompanying certification to the SSI Enriched Air Nitrox speciality and both of these courses are prerequisites to more advanced dive training.
- The SSI Deep Diver course costs 255€ and includes three open water dives. The course can be completed in one and a half days and is open to any diver holding an Open Water certification and aged 15 or over.
