Many of the world’s best dive sites are located offshore at some distance or even a long way out in to the ocean. To be able to enjoy these sites you will need to be able to dive from a boat. You may even find that you love this so much that you want to book a liveaboard holiday, the ultimate dive experience.

Boats may vary in size from small zodiacs to large liveaboards. The boat you are on may anchor or may follow you on a drift dive. However, the rules for boat diving apply to all these different types of vessel. The SSI Boat Diver speciality will help you to learn how to get the most enjoyment from your boat diving experience and how to dive safely from a boat.
