Advanced Wreck Diving

The SSI Advanced Wreck Diving specialty is designed for divers who already enjoy wreck diving and want to develop a higher level of confidence, precision and awareness around more advanced wreck environments.

Wrecks are some of the most fascinating dive sites in the ocean, but they also require a more disciplined approach. Structure, depth, orientation, visibility and overhead considerations all make advanced wreck diving a specialty where training, control and decision-making really matter.

Build more confidence around complex wreck structures

This course is ideal for divers who want to go beyond simply visiting the outside of a wreck and develop the skills needed to approach more advanced wreck scenarios in a safer, more controlled and more thoughtful way.

Over several training days, you’ll improve your awareness around line use, navigation, team communication, equipment configuration and how to move around wreck structures with greater confidence and precision.

Important note

This course is designed to develop your wreck diving skills in a more advanced direction, but all training should always remain within the standards and limits of the certification being taught.

Course information

• Duration: 3–4 days
• Includes: 1 dry land session, 4 open water dives, digital learning materials and SSI Advanced Wreck Diving certification
• Requirements: Wreck Diving certification or equivalent experience, plus an appropriate level of diving experience for advanced training
• Not included: diving insurance, equipment rental and any specialty-specific equipment not otherwise listed
