The Cathedral
The Cathedral is one of Lanzarote’s most iconic dive sites and a must-have in your logbook.
The site takes its name from a large volcanic cavern whose shape resembles a cathedral, complete with an “altar-like” formation at the rear.
Located at around 30 metres depth, it is a perfect dive for those progressing from Open Water to Advanced levels.
Keep an eye out for the large groupers that often inhabit the area and may accompany you during the dive.
Take your time to explore the surrounding reef, with its ledges, crevices and hidden marine life.
Nearby, a small fishing boat wreck rests below the reef wall, adding another point of interest to the dive.
This area is particularly known for its resident groupers.
