Punta Tiñosa
Punta Tiñosa is just a short 5-minute boat ride from either Puerto Calero or Puerto del Carmen.
The dive site is divided into three levels, stretching southwards.
The first level, between 6 and 12 metres, is also known as “the garden.” Hundreds of fascinating volcanic formations line the drop-off, giving this part of the dive an otherworldly feel. Pinnacles, bubbles, walls… all created by volcanic activity and solidified lava.
The second level drops to around 18 metres and is made up of sandy terraces, where it’s not uncommon to spot elasmobranchs such as rays and electric rays.
The third and deepest level descends to 35 metres. Here, a long wall bursts with colour thanks to the anemones and sponges that cover it, sheltering a wealth of marine life. The drop-off also hides small surprises, such as caverns and tunnels, waiting to be explored.
