Wow look at those stalagtites and stalagmites!
Divers come in all shapes and sizes and with different interests. Whilst some divers are only interested in photographing fish (large and/or small), other wants to do nothing else than explore old wrecks. Another group of divers are those that want to explore caves and caverns. As with wreck diving this means entering an overhead environment with no direct access to the surface. Because of this certain specialised equipment is needed as well as an understanding of the techniques needed for cavern and cave diving.
The SSI Cavern Diving specialisation provides an introduction to the fascinating world of cavern and later cave diving. The speciality allows you to dive within the light zone to a maximum depth of 40 metres. As part of the course you will learn how to use specialised cavern diving equipment, gas management concepts and the buddy team skills needed to safely conduct cavern dives.
- The SSI Cavern Diving course costs 475€ and includes four open water dives. The course can be completed in two days and is open to any diver holding an Advanced Open Water certification and aged 18 or over.
