I really want to have a look inside that wreck!
The SSI Wreck Diving specialisation allows you to dive around and above a wreck. For many divers the real thrill in wreck diving comes when you can go inside the wreck. However, it is very important to realise that when you enter a wreck you are in an overhead environment. This means that, unlike when diving in open water, you have no direct access to the surface and you are likely to have much less visibility. This means you must know how to navigate within the wreck and to have the necessary equipment to ensure your safety and comfort.
The SSI Advanced Wreck Diving certification teaches you how to make limited penetration dives into wreck overhead environments. Due to the nature of this speciality there are a number of prerequisites that are required. The Advanced Wreck Diving specialisation is also a prerequisite itself should you wish to become a technical wreck diver at some point in the future.
- The SSI Advanced Wreck Diving course costs 455€ and includes four open water dives. The course can be completed in two days and is open to any diver holding all of the required prerequisites.
