Program Overview:

The Divemaster Course is the first course is the first step in your career as a dive professional and a prerequisite to become an Instructor. This course teaches you to guide groups of already certified divers in a wide variety of environments and conditions.
The course is designed to provide the skills and knowledge required to safely and easily manage groups of divers.

Briefings, safety protocols, dive management and organization, communication and leadership techniques and problem identification and solution provision, are just some of the aspects that the course will cover.

The SSI Science of Diving specialty course forms the other part of the Divemaster training program. This segment teaches you all things science, behind diving, to give you the necessary knowledge required to plan and conduct diving activities safely.

You will have two options for the duration of the course, either 10 days or 4-6 weeks.

The 10 day course is an intense training program that will take you through workshops and scenarios that will prepare you to confidently guide certified divers. This program is ideal for those divers with a lot of diving experience or for those that aren’t necessarily looking to make a career change, but are looking to gain confidence in their diving ability and take their new skill set home.

The 4-6 weeks training program is designed for those divers looking to improve their diving skills and gain an insight into the diving industry as a working environment. This program can be customized to your individual needs to ensure you will be fully immersed into the dive team and learn not only the practical dive skills, but also the behind the scenes planning and organization procedures of a dive operation, including the use of a compressor and how to perform basic equipment maintenance.

Once certified as an SSI Dive Guide, logged at least 60 dives and completed the SSI Science of Diving specialty, you will receive the certification of SSI Divemaster.
