Program Overview:

Open Water certification allows you to dive to 18 metres, but many of the most impressive dive sites and underwater features lie deeper. Deep diving opens the door to a different kind of underwater experience — one that requires more planning, awareness and control.

As you go deeper, you’ll experience different light conditions, new underwater landscapes and often a very different feeling compared with shallower dives.

The SSI Deep Diving specialty prepares you to dive to a maximum depth of 40 metres within recreational limits and with the right level of preparation.

During the course, you’ll not only dive deeper, but also learn how to plan deep dives more carefully, manage gas more effectively and better understand the additional considerations that come with depth.

Deep Diving combines especially well with the Enriched Air Nitrox specialty, making it a smart next step for divers who want to improve both comfort and efficiency at depth.
