Cuesta del Faro

Cuesta del Faro literally means “the slope of the lighthouse” — a name that perfectly describes the shape of this dive site.

The Playa Blanca lighthouse stands on the island’s western tip, on a small peninsula overlooking the sea.

From there, the volcanic terrain slopes gradually into the water, shaping the structure of the dive below.

The usual entry point is at around 10 to 12 metres depth.

From here, the dive can descend to around 30 metres, reaching the edge of the reef wall.

Along the way, you’ll likely notice the small volcanic lava formations scattered across the seabed.

Keep an eye out for the large moray eels found here, as well as the valleys and depressions carved into this rocky underwater landscape.

There is also a small abandoned fishing wreck on the site, adding another point of interest to the dive.
