Become a Professional Diver

Program Overview:

During the Assistant Instructor course, you will be provided with the necessary skills and knowledge to be able to directly assist in diving courses.

An SSI Assistant Instructor can directly supervise the theory sessions, as well as the confined water or pool sessions of an Open Water Diver course.

As an Assistant Instructor, you will also be able to issue certifications for programs like Try Dive, Scuba Skills Update, and Perfect Buoyancy.

It is the step prior to becoming an Open Water Instructor and the course is designed to impart the standards and teaching philosophy of SSI as an organization.
It is necessary to understand and know how to apply these teaching methods in order to teach them properly.

Duration:

  • 5 – 12 days

  • Training materials, including digital learning materials, physical kits, and registration fees
  • All the necessary dives to reach the minimum required
  • Annual SSI active status fees

Does Not Include:

  • Equipment rental.
  • Personal or professional diving insurance.

Requirements:

  • SSI Divemaster certification or equivalent.
  • SSI React Right certification or equivalent, not older than two years.
  • A minimum of 75 logged dives.
  • Minimum 18 years old.
  • Hyperbaric medical certificate.
  • Professional and personal diving insurance.
