If the answer to any of these questions is yes then so you have come to the right place. Rubicon Diving is a Dive Centre that specialises in underwater photography and videography.
Underwater photography courses at Rubicon Diving are taught by our resident photographer Natasha Maksymenko. You can see some examples of her work throughout this website.
At Rubicon Diving we have three levels of underwater photography courses, two of which have been written specifically by Rubicon Diving and approved by ANDI Europe.
- Introductory Underwater Photography – a PADI approved introductory course for those divers new to underwater photography.
- Recreational Dive Photography – an ANDI approved intermediate course for recreational divers who have experience of underwater photography but want to improve their skills and photographs.
- Technical Dive Photography – an ANDI approved specialist underwater photography course for qualified technical and rebreather divers who want to take their dive and photography skills to new depths.
These courses are progressive and can be taught on both compact and digital SLR cameras. Our course structures are also flexible so that whilst most peoples’ introduction to underwater photography is using a compact camera with automatic settings, digital SLR cameras can also be used on the introductory level course. Our courses cover a variety of aspects including photography theory and techniques, buoyancy control for photographers, photographic composition, equipment use and maintenance and post production editing.
Whilst you can hire our photographic equipment (Canon Digital SLR and compact cameras with waterproof housings) for the duration of your underwater photography courses, it is of course better to use your own equipment if you have it.
Our courses are designed to be flexible in order to give you the chance to learn at your own pace and take into account your previous experience and knowledge.
