Although we all love diving, a really great dive can be spoiled by something as simple as a leaking mask or an ill fitting wetsuit. In many cases these problems can be avoided by choosing the right equipment and looking after it properly. Even the most expensive mask may not be right for you.

The SSI Equipment techniques speciality is designed to show you what to look for when selecting equipment. The course shows how to ensure that a mask is a good fit or a wetsuit is the correct size. If you plan to dive in cold waters you may need a semi-dry or even a dry suit for diving. These are important considerations when you are spending money on your equipment and in ensuring that you will be comfortable when diving.
